Michael Alexander '05

Senior Vice President, International Marketing, Universal Music Group East Coast Labels (Def Jam, Island, Republic Records). Michael is the head of International Marketing and Publicity for Universal Music Group’s East Coast labels, responsible for all marketing and promotions outside the USA. Working hand in hand with more than fifty label partners around the world, Michael and his team oversee the execution of all international campaigns. Formerly the VP of International Marketing for Island Def Jam Music Group, he played an integral role in the global success of such artists as Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Kanye West, and Bon Jovi. Michael joined the UMG family in 2003 as an intern during his sophomore year at Muhlenberg College.

Elana Banin '10

Policy and Advocacy Associate at PATH. Elana has built a career in international development, spending five years living in Asia and the Middle East working as a policy researcher and project manager. She is currently conducting research and analysis of global health issues, translating evidence into policy-relevant solutions for the US and multilateral institutions. Her previous roles have spanned think tanks, NGOs, and corporate settings, acting as an analyst for global initiatives in human security, failing states, illicit aid allocation, and government accountability. Elana earned her MA in Security and Diplomacy from Tel Aviv University.

Kurt Beyer ’11

Associate Brand Group Director, Horizon Media in New York. Kurt has experience developing and executing multi-channel ad campaigns across a number of business verticals, working on accounts such as Mars Chocolate, Motorola, Stoli Vodka, Lindt Chocolate, and most recently LG. He is a self-professed mobile nerd and digital enthusiast, tasked with bringing the latest and greatest technologies to his clients in order to reach their goals. He continuously participates in new business pitches and wins at Horizon, using a blend of art and data to demonstrate the value of quality advertising to brands across the country.

Tricia (Conti) Bowman '08

Brand Manager, Just Born. Tricia is a dynamic marketing professional with a diverse background in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and media industries from both the client and agency perspective. In her most recent role at Just Born, Tricia was responsible for all day-to-day brand activity across the PR, digital, and social platforms for MIKE AND IKE and HOT TAMALES, two of their top-performing candy brands. After completing the NBC Page Program in 2008, Tricia held positions in both consumer marketing (NBCUniversal) and ad sales marketing (CBS Corporation) in New York City before moving back to the Lehigh Valley.

Kendal Bryant '05

UX Design Lead and Content Strategist at Fidelity Investments. Kendall spent the early part of her career in journalism (Men’s Health and Best Life magazines). Later, she took her passion for blending content with purpose to NBCUniversal and launched the company’s first on-air, pro-social, single cause initiative—Green is Universal—which evolved into a corporate social responsibility division. She also led content and product for a tech startup. Kendall graduated from Muhlenberg in 2005 and has her Masters in Advertising from Boston University. When not working, Kendall blogs, runs, and eats a lot of avocados.

Jackson Bull '11

Associate Music Programmer, SiriusXM Satellite Radio. Jackson grew up in Nashville, then moved to New York City after graduation. He also does some clown work on the weekends.

Kaitie Burger '12

Social Media & Communications Manager, Discover Lehigh Valley, the region’s destination marketing organization. Kaitie manages an audience of more than 150,000 followers. She also handles media relations, manages content creation for the organization’s website and blog, and more. In 2016, Kaitie was named to Destination Marketing Association International’s “30 Under 30” list as a future leader in the field. Outside of work, Kaitie spends time teaching at local dance studios. She graduated from Muhlenberg with a BA in Media & Communication and a minor in Dance.

Deborah Caldwell '84

Editorial Director of eCommerce Strategy, Time Inc. Deborah thrives at the intersection of journalism, content strategy, technology, and the evolving media business. After launching her journalism career as a newspaper reporter, Deborah became a digital journalist and start-up founder in the late 1990s. Her work has appeared in Fortune, Money, New York Times Week in Review, The Dallas Morning News, Beliefnet, CNBC, Huffington Post, among others.

Joe Caporoso '09

VP of Social Media, Whistle Sports. Joe has been at Whistle Sports for three years and is currently in charge of setting day-to-day content strategy for their YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat. He also owns a website on the NFL/New York Jets, TurnOnTheJets.com, which helped him get his initial position with Whistle Sports.

David (D.J.) Carey '12

Product Manager, TouchTunes Interactive Networks. DJ oversees strategy, roadmap, and feature definition on a number of the company’s products. Previously he worked as a Digital Operations Manager at the NBA and as a Digital Content Editor at ESPN. At Muhlenberg, he was president of MBC, co-hosted a sports talk radio show on WMUH, and was the videographer for Muhlenberg’s men’s lacrosse team.

John Carter '11

Manager, Video Business Development at Roku, a leading streaming device company. John works on building an innovative advertising technology platform for the company.

Laura Cirigliano '05

Senior Manager, Communications, The Walt Disney Company. Laura Cirigliano has spent the past decade driving external, internal, and business-to- business communications for global brands. Currently, Laura works in Corporate Communications for Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media in Los Angeles, California where she oversees internal communications for the segment. Previously, she has held jobs and internships at Disney Theatrical Group, Clear Channel Communications, CBS – The Early Show, and Pearson Education. Laura holds a B.A. from Muhlenberg College in Communications and Business Administration and an M.A. in Arts Management from Montclair State University.

Jeri Cohen ’85

Senior Level Strategist, Freelance Consultant. She most recently directed global brand strategy for $10 billion QVC, Inc., during the company’s reimagining of its brand and business model. Jeri is often hired to implement change and help imagine the future for clients. She also began teaching Brand Culture and Creative Strategy at Muhlenberg this spring, and finds it rewarding beyond words.

Kathy Cruz '15

Reporter, Editor, Writer, and Line Producer at 69 News. Kathy’s produced the short film “The Nun” in 2014, which won an award as Best Drama in the Muhlenberg Film Association Fest (MFA). In 2016 Kathy was promoted to the weather team of 69 News and she is now the weather anchor of Edición en Español. She is currently pursuing a Certificate of Weather Forecasting at Penn State University. Kathy also completed a summer program in Television and Film Production at New York University. This program was a scholarship sponsored by Hollywood actor Vin Diesel, his foundation One Race Films, and The Global Foundation of Democracy and Development (GFDD).

Katherine Dalldorf '16

Editor, Four Corners Media, a documentary production company in Brooklyn, New York. Four Corners Media focuses on character-based stories and also produces video storytelling for organizations and nonprofits in New York City. In addition to her editing responsibilities, Katherine serves as a production assistant and camera assistant as needed. Through Muhlenberg, she spent a semester abroad at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) in Prague. Katherine credits her success in the industry to the extensive and well-rounded knowledge, experience, and encouragement she received at Muhlenberg and FAMU.

Kyrie Fisher '13

Executive Assistant/Office Manager, Philadelphia Film Society. Kyrie began working with the Philadelphia Film Society as a volunteer during their 2013 and 2014 Philadelphia Film Festivals. She then joined the staff as a ticketing intern in 2015 and was a contracted employee working in festival operations in 2016. In addition to the festival, PFS has year-round events and educational outreach, and screens both first-run films and curated programming at their two venues: the PFS Roxy and the Prince Theater.

Jillian Fligge '11

Director of Marketing & Special Projects, Paxos Restaurants. Paxos Restaurants is a family-owned company based in the Lehigh Valley that owns a number of local restaurants and businesses. In an ever-moving position, she works directly with Mr. Paxos on company-wide developments, is in charge of email and social media campaigns for the restaurants, works with the company PR team on advertising and design efforts, and assists with planning events and upcoming projects. A former editor of The Muhlenberg Weekly, Jillian’s career history also includes freelance reporting for a number of newspapers, blogs, and magazines in the tri-state area.

Insley Fowler '09

Primary Floor Director for “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer,” CNN. Insley also works on other DC-based programming, including “The Lead with Jake Tapper” and two CNN en Espanol shows. During the 2016 election cycle, Insley floored every primary/caucus special, including election night, and traveled with the Special Events crew for presidential debates, town halls, and the Republican and Democratic Conventions. After interning at C-SPAN and CNN through Muhlenberg’s Washington Semester, Insley joined CNN after graduation as a News Assistant and a Media Coordinator before finding her home in the studios.

Jeremy Fuchs

Reporter and Writer, Sports Illustrated and Sports Illustrated Kids. Jeremy edits the Faces in the Crowd section, a long-standing weekly round-up of outstanding amateur athletes. A 2015 graduate of the Columbia School of Journalism, Jeremy has written stories about the 1941-42 Brooklyn Americans, the pain of a fourth-place finish at the Olympics, the first female NHL player, and the training routines of ping-pong players.

Jennifer Gable '10

Policy Associate at PolicyLab at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Jennifer works to support the development and implementation of the center’s policy agenda, and works closely with the communications team to ensure that PolicyLab research is well-positioned to influence policy decisions at the local, state and federal level. Prior to joining PolicyLab, Jen worked for the National Skills Coalition in Washington, DC, and served as an AmeriCorps VISTA with the Community Action Committee of the Lehigh Valley. Jen completed her Master of Public Administration and Master of Bioethics at the University of Pennsylvania.

Taylor Gibb '16

Success Manager, Sprinklr, a New York-based social media management company. Taylor recently relocated to New York City to work at the tech startup with a focus in social media. Taylor will definitely add you on LinkedIn, but only if bribed with baked goods (preferably those that include chocolate).

Kevin Glancy '16

Marketing Manager for a startup in Dallas. Kevin Glancy is a recent graduate who left with a BA in History and Film Studies. Since graduation he has moved to Dallas, and back again, in pursuit of work.

Vernon Jordan III

Screenwriting MFA candidate at Brooklyn College’s Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema (’19). Vernon Jordan, III (King V, on the mic) is a Philly-born-‘n-raised writer, filmmaker, and poet, interested in stories about the interior lives of Black people and has a lifelong fascination with the supernatural and otherwise speculative/magical/funky shit. He recently graduated from Muhlenberg College with a BA in a self-designed major called Black Voice and Cultural Studies. Vernon’s senior thesis short film, “See My Dreams Come True,” has played at Blackstar Film Fest in Philadelphia, featured in a multimedia art exhibit through Brooklyn College, played with the MECCAcon Film Fest across the United States, and has also screened at festivals in Ireland, Turkey, Pakistan, and Germany.

Philip Lakin ’09

US Supply Automation Manager at Gett, an Israeli-based Uber competitor. Philip graduated from Muhlenberg in 2009 as a Theater and Media & Commutation double major. For the past five years, he has been researching ways to leverage the current tech startup boom to help fellow actors navigate the entertainment industry. He now works to learn everything he can about the on-demand sharing economy, and hopes to one day make finding talent as easy as finding a black car.

Heather (Fox) Lavin '08

Senior Associate Director of Communications, Muhlenberg College. Heather currently develops and designs all the College’s digital communication with alumni, including web, email, and social media. She has held several positions at Muhlenberg since returning to campus in 2010, including fundraising, event planning, and volunteer management. Her interest in nonprofit marketing with social media began with her Media & Communication Honors thesis and continued through her Master’s studies in Arts Administration at Drexel University. Prior to working at ’Berg Heather taught dance and toured the country with Enchantment Theatre Company.

Scott Lazar ’96

DGA 1st Assistant Director on feature films and television shows. After writing and directing his own independent feature when Scott was still a Muhlenberg student, he worked his way down the totem pole, helping some other Allentown filmmakers get their movies made. He then moved to New York to see how the big boys did it, finally making his way to being an intern. He then began the climb once more, working as a production assistant, and then into the AD department. Scott has worked on over 50 movies, short films, television shows, and commercials, including Margin Call (2012 Oscar nominee), That Awkward Moment, ABC’s Madoff (2016 DGA Nominee), and The Bye Bye Man. He’s worked with directors such as Woody Allen, Joel Schumacher, Ryan Phillippe, Stephen Herek, and Raymond DeFelitta.

Jack McCallum '71

Senior Writer at Sports Illustrated. Jack worked as a sports journalist for forty years. He was elected to the writers wing of the Basketball Hall of Fame and is the author of eleven books, including the New York Times bestseller Dream Team. He teaches as an adjunct at Muhlenberg and has a Master’s degree in English literature from Lehigh.

Mark McGillivray '14

Designer, Art Director, and 3D Illustrator. Mark is based in New York City, with expertise in creating artwork for the entertainment industry. He has developed key art, posters, storyboards, and illustrations for film, television, theatre, and fashion. Clients include MTV, Absolut Vodka, A24 Films, FilmNation, Vague Pictures, Gunpowder & Sky, PUMA, Sunday in the Park with George, M. Butterfly, Vineyard Theatre, and many more. Heather Mill ’10

Publicist, Penguin Random House in New York. Heather specializes in satellite media tours for best-selling adult fiction and nonfiction authors including Adam Grant, Emma Straub, Tana French, Jon Ronson, Ken Robinson, Brooke Shields, Daniel James Brown, Sue Monk Kidd, Gary Hart, and more. Previously, Heather worked at M Booth, a mid-size public relations agency. She worked on both travel and consumer tech clients, including Rent.com, Foursquare, American Express, CafePress, Myrtle Beach, and the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism, both in traditional media relations and online community management. Heather has also served as the Director of Marketing and Communications for the Jewish Day School of the Lehigh Valley, where she handled marketing, PR, social media, and advertising for the school. Heather graduated with honors in Media & Communication.

Matt Musick '12

Senior Account Executive, Sound Healthcare Communications. The team at Sound Healthcare Communications (New Brunswick, N.J.) specializes in developing brand positioning and creative campaigns for their pharmaceutical client roster. Matt serves as the primary agency contact for multiple accounts and is relied upon to anticipate and address their advertising needs through sound strategy and partnership. At Muhlenberg, Matt was a Media & Communication and Business Administration double major, serving as a Writing Assistant in the Writing Center and for First Year Seminars as well as a four-year member of the Mule football team.

Kim O'Brien '09

Editor, Bravo Group, a PR/lobbying firm in Harrisburg, PA. Heather oversees the production of editorial calendars and original content for life sciences and energy clients. Previously, she was a copywriter at Godfrey, a B2B marketing agency. Kim has served as a news correspondent for LNP Media Group and various Lancaster publications for nearly a decade. In 2016, she was voted “Best Writer” in Lancaster County Magazine’s annual Best of Lancaster reader survey. While at Muhlenberg, Kim studied Media & Communication and Art History. She interned at Rodale Publications in nearby Emmaus during her senior year.

Katie Peikes '15

Science Reporter, Delaware Public Media. Katie reports on science, health, and technology for Delaware’s NPR affiliate. After interning at Connecticut’s NPR station from 2014 to 2015, Katie knew she wanted to work in public radio. In Delaware, Katie has reported on a variety of topics from beach erosion to bird flu to fentanyl use across the First State. Previously, she was a municipal government reporter in Cache County, Utah, and a freelancer for Utah Public Radio. While at Muhlenberg, Katie was an active member of WMUH and MBC, wrote for The Muhlenberg Weekly and published a couple of pieces in The Morning Call.

Sarah Rosenthal '10

Assistant Director, New York University Wasserman Center for Career Development. Prior to that, Sarah completed her Master of Arts in Higher and Postsecondary Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, while simultaneously working as a Graduate Assistant in the Cahill Career Development Center at Ramapo College of New Jersey and the Office of International and Intercultural Student Programs at Barnard College. She decided to pursue another degree with the hope that it would open new doors after working for Kaplan Test Prep and Muhlenberg Hillel for a few years.

Jessica Scanlon '16

Coordinator for Commercial Partnerships, Universal Music Group. Jessica is a New Jersey native who graduated Muhlenberg College with a BA in Media & Communication and Theatre. Through her position Jessica supports one of UMG’s direct accounts, Alliance Entertainment, which puts their physical CDs into Walmart, Best Buy, Barnes and Noble, and many other retailers. In addition, Jessica works with some of the digital accounts including Vevo and Spotify. Prior to accepting her position, Jessica spent her summers interning for Inside Edition and Glow Connection.

Daniel Schloss '15

Account Executive, Double E Communications. Daniel is a PR guy in NYC, telling the stories of companies in the advertising, production, digital, and design industries. He graduated Muhlenberg in 2015 as an English and Neuroscience double major, and was a lead writing tutor.

Lisa Siciliano '10

Senior Operations Specialist, Viacom. Lisa has been working at Viacom for almost four years, starting out as a Coordinator for the Media Services Distribution team in 2013 and moving into her current position in 2015. Her department is responsible for the creation and delivery of Video on Demand and Download to Own content. She works closely with all Viacom networks, cable providers, business teams, and more to ensure that content is delivered on time. Lisa is responsible for assisting with large projects, managing interns, and streamlining processes and workflows. At Muhlenberg, Lisa was President of the Communication Club and Co-President of MCTV (now MBC).

Diana Skowronski '07

Senior Associate Director, Alumni Affairs office at Muhlenberg College. Diana graduated with a BA in Media & Communication. While at Muhlenberg, Diana was active with the Best Buddies program and the Arc of Northampton County. Her passion for volunteerism led her to a career in nonprofit where she led successful campaigns at the March of Dimes until 2010 when she moved to the American Heart Association, leading the Lehigh Valley Heart Walk and Go Red For Women campaigns. In 2013, Diana had the opportunity to extend her experience into higher education in an alumni volunteer management role at Lehigh University. In 2016 she was fortunate enough to transition that experience into a role at her alma mater, where she currently serves as the Senior Associate Director in the Alumni Affairs office.

David Slotnick '11

Media Specialist for Cohn & Wolfe, a global PR firm. David works out of their New York office and specializes in healthcare communications. After graduating from Muhlenberg and working for a year, he attended the University of Edinburgh in the U.K. and earned a Master’s degree in history. At Muhlenberg, David minored in Jewish Studies and completed internships at the Joe Sestak for US Senate campaign and at RenewLV, a progressive advocacy group based in Bethlehem. Before his current position, David worked in media relations for the Mount Sinai Health System.

Ann-Marie Smith '92

Full-Time Faculty Member, Delaware County Community College (DCCC). Ann-Marie teaches Computing Science (CS) and accepted the teaching position in the summer of 1999 because she found that it was what she enjoyed doing most. Her job is incredibly rewarding, and she thoroughly enjoys the teaching and learning experience. Ann-Marie also serves as the CS coordinator. Prior to the full-time teaching position, she served as DCCC’s Instructional Technology Specialist. In this position, she assisted faculty with integrating technology into their curriculum. In addition, she was one of two web developers who designed and developed DCCC’s original website.

Malcolm Spurlock '16

Engagement Coordinator, Grant Associates, Inc. Over the last several months, Malcolm has worked with a variety of NYC Businesses, such as Eataly, Whole Foods Market, Madison Square Garden, and the Barclays Center, assisting them with their candidate sourcing and staffing needs. Through his work, he specializes in sourcing candidates within the fields of hospitality, food service, and security. Malcolm is excited to return to campus where he is a proud alumni of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and Cardinal Key Society.

Marketing Solutions Developer, Dial America Marketing Inc. Max develops integrated marketing solutions for identity theft protection corporations. He is former captain of the track and field team and brother of SigEp.

Diane Tamulavage '13

Digital Marketer, Fame House, an award-winning Philadelphia agency (UMG). After graduating from Muhlenberg with a double degree in Media & Communication and Religion Studies, Diane quickly flocked to the ever-evolving music industry. She began her career in music freelance blogging for Your EDM while working as a Social Media Coordinator for Tiesto’s label, Musical Freedom. She has worked with artists and music brands such as Robin Schulz, Beatport, Disco Donnie Presents, REO Speedwagon, Imagine Festival, I Feel Love, Fantastic Negrito, and more.

Ian Tauber '89

Associate Director, Advancement Services, Muhlenberg College. Ian is a member of the College’s Office of Advancement, which encompasses fundraising, alumni relations, and career services. In his current capacity, he produces research, reports, and analysis to enhance the College’s fundraising efforts. Previously, he worked in market research and marketing at The Morning Call newspaper and, before that, in sales and marketing at Rodale, Inc. He is married to an ’89 alumna and they are the parents of a ’16 alumnus.

Elizabeth Whitney '04

Attorney, Meguire Whitney. Elizabeth counsels community-focused electric utilities (mostly not-for-profit) on public policy matters before Congress and the executive branch. Her firm provides strategic communication and lobbying services. In addition to a BA in Media & Communication from Muhlenberg, she holds a Master’s in political management from Goerter Washington and a law degree from Georgetown.

Lauren Zipkin '14

Media Buyer, Chief Media, a boutique agency specializing in direct response marketing and advertising. Lauren graduated with a BA in Media & Communication and Film Studies. Some of her networks include (but are not limited to) A&E, VH1, NBC Sports, FX, Discovery Channel, and USA. In her spare time, Lauren has also volunteered for the New York Film Festival and worked for the Tribeca Film Festival. As a student, she was President of the Muhlenberg Film Association and the Muhlenberg Broadcasting Community.
